ORDINANCE No. 10 of 1899. (MERCHANT SHIPPING).
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 39 (1) of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, the Governor in Council hereby further amends Table U in the Schedule to the said Ordinance as follows:-
Amendments.
(1) The following words are added to regulation 6:- "It is valid only for so long as the vessel remains the property of the owner named therein".
(2) Regulation 9 is rescinded and the following regulation is substituted therefor :-
9. Licences shall state the measurements of the vessel and shall be valid for one year only or for such less period as shall be named in the licence. For those mentioned in Classes I, III and IV hereinafter indicated, licences will be issued from 1st July, and for the remaining Classes from 1st April. Half-yearly or Quarterly licences may be issued at the discretion of the Harbour Master.
(3) Regulation 21 is rescinded.
(4) Regulation 22 is rescinded and the following regula- tion is substituted therefor :-
22. No person in charge of a passenger boat shall demand more than the fare provided by these regulations, nor shall he refuse to take a passenger, except for some reasonable cause, anywhere within the harbour limits.
(5) Regulation 23 is rescinded.
(6) The following words are added to regulation 33:- "No vessel in this class shall leave the waters of the Colony without a special permit."
(7) For the figures "43" in the last line of regulation 36 substitute "42".
(8) For the heading to regulations 37-41 substitute the following heading:---
Class IV-All other vessels of any description for which licence fees are not prescribed in Table T and which are not licensed in Classes I, II and III.
(9) Regulation 37 is rescinded.
