No. 303. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. PHILIP JACKS to act as Puisne Judge until further notice, with effect from the 16th April, 1934.

No. 304.-- His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. THOMAS STODART WHYTE-SMITH to act as Land Officer until further notice, with effect from the 16th April, 1934.

No. 305.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. WILLIAM JAMES LOCKHART-SMITH to be an Assistant Crown Solicitor, with effect from 1st January, 1934.

No. 306.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. QUENTIN ALLISON ASHBY MACFADYEN to be a Police Magistrate, with effect from the 26th March, 1934.

No. 307. His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to appoint Mr. OSCAR EAGER, to be an Assistant Superintendent of Police (Reserve), with effect from the 20th April, 1931.

His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been pleased to accept the resignation by Colonel LENNOX GODFREY Bird, D.S.O., C.B.E., of his appointment as Commandant of the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, and has approved of his transfer to the Corps Reserve of Officers, with effect from 21st April, 1934.

No. 309.-His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government has been. pleased to approve of the promotion of Major HUGH BLACKWELL LAYARD DOWBIGGIN, U.B.E., to the rank of Lieut.-Colonel and his appointment as Commandant of the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, vice Colonel LENNOX GODFREY BIRD, D.S.O., O.B.E., resigned, with effect from 21st April, 1934.
