Hawking on ferries.
Ordinance No. 28 of 1917.

ORDINANCE No. 25 of 1933. (MISCELLANEOUS LICENCES).
In exercise of the powers conferred by section 3 of the Miscellaneous Licences Ordinance, 1933, the Governor in Council makes the following amendments of and additions to the Regulations contained in the Second Schedule to the said Ordinance, and to the forms of licence contained in the Appendix thereto :-
1. The regulations contained in Part III of the Second Schedule to the said Ordinance under the heading "A. HAWKERS GENERALLY”, are amended by the deletion of the words "for instance the holder of a hawker's (itinerant) licence, a hawker's (stallholders) licence, or a hawker's (native craft) licence may not carry on his trade on any steamship", in regulation 3 thereof.
2. The regulations contained in Part III of the Second Schedule to the said Ordinance under the heading “B. LICENSED (ITINERANT) HAWKERS", are amended
(a) by the re-numbering of regulation 6 thereof as
regulation 7, and
(b) by the addition of the following regulation after
regulation 5 thereof:
6. Any licensed (itinerant) hawker, with the permission in writing of the licensing authority endorsed on his licence, and the consent of the master or officer in charge of any ferry vessel as defined in the Ferries Ordinance, 1917, may trade on board such ferry vessel.
No such hawker trading as aforesaid on board any ferry vessel shall use or utter any cry, or make or use any other noise for the purpose of attracting attention to his trade on board such ferry vessel.
3. Form No. 2E in the Appendix to the Second Schedule to the said Ordinance is amended by the insertion of the following heading :-
HAWKER'S (NEWSPAPER) LICENCE,
at the beginning thereof.
