No. S. 367. -Sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be marked "Tender for Ferries", will be received at the Office of the Colonial Secretary until Noon on the 5th October, 1933, for a licence for the exclusive maintenance of ferry services for the conveyance of passengers and things between :
Victoria, Hunghom, Kowloon City, and Sai Wan Ho,
and these are the localities to be served from or at the points or piers mentioned in paragraph 4 of this notice inviting Tenders.
2. Every tender and licence shall be subject to the Ferries Ordinance No. 28 of 1917 and the regulations for the time being and from time to time made thereunder.
3. The period of the licence shall be 5 years, commencing on the 1st day of November, 1933, which period may be extended in accordance with the regulations.
4. The service shall provide for not less than one departure every half hour between 5.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. daily from each of the following points or piers :-
Vehicles Ferry Wharf, Victoria, Hunghom Ferry Pier,
Kowloon City Pier,
and one departure every hour between 5.00 a.m. and 6.00 p.m. daily from :-
Sai Wan Ho Pier.
If during the subsistence of the licence any of the points or piers before named shall be closed or no longer available, such piers as may be indicated by the Harbour Master shall be used for the service in substitution for the points or piers so closed or no longer available.
The ferry runs contemplated are,
(1) Victoria, Hunghom, Kowloon City; and
(2) Hunghom, Sai Wan Họ.
Alternative runs may be submitted in any tender so long as all the before named locali- tics are served.
5. The licensee may charge for every passenger fares not exceeding :-
1st class-10 cents.
2nd class 5 cents.
Every tenderer must submit a list of maximum charges for the carriage of cargo and goods, but the settlement of those charges and their inclusion in the licence shall not imply any monopoly or exclusive right to the licensee in the carriage of cargo or goods of any description.
6. A fixed monthly rent, to be paid in advance on the first day of each calendar month, without any deduction, shall be offered by every tenderer.
7. Every tenderer will be required to deposit with the Colonial Treasurer the sum of $1,000 as security and shall forward the Colonial Treasurer's receipt therefor to the Colonial Secretary with his tender.
8. The successful tenderer will be required to furnish security by deposit with the Colonial Treasurer in a sum equal to 12 months' rent offered.
9. Forms of tender may be obtained on application to the Colonial Secretary where copies of the Ferries Regulations may be seen.
