Ceremonies.
CEREMONIES.
7.-(1) The Force will be inspected annually by the Com- modore or by a Naval Officer deputed by him.
(2) Full Naval honours at the funerals of members of the Force who die otherwise than under training may be rendered at the discretion of the Commanding Officer, subject always to the proviso that no expense falls on Naval funds.
(3) Drill Ships and Shore Establishments if supplied with the necessary material should wherever possible "Dress Ship" ir. accordance with Article 93 of the King's Regulations and Admiralty Instructions.
PERMANENT STAFF.
8.(1) The permanent Staff comprises the R.N. Instruc- tors as shown in Table B in regulation 4.
(2) The conditions of service, of all Members of the per- manent Staff shall be as laid down by the Commodore : Pro- vided however that their remuneration, if any, if payable from the revenues and assets of the Colony shall be determined by the Governor in Council.
(3) The officer Instructor will be appointed by the Ad- miralty, being selected from Officers on the Active List of the Royal Navy of and below the rank of Commander.
The Officer Instructor is purely a Staff Officer and is not entitled to take command of any of the H.K.N.V. when an Officer of the Force is present, except for the purpose of instruction.
An Officer Instructor is appointed to give instruction to the Force. He is subject to the orders of the Commanding Officer, and he is required to assist him in carrying on the Naval duties of the H.K.N.V. but he is not to take any part in its civil affairs, except where expressly authorised by these regulations.
He is to superintend the Drills and Exercises of the H.K.N.V. and is, under the Commanding Officer, to have control over the Petty Officer Instructors as regards their dis- cipline and duties as instructors.
(4) P. O. Instructors will be appointed by the Com- modore. They may be employed on clerical work, supervi- sion of repairs and general duties connected with the Force under the authority of the Officer Instructor, provided their instructional duties are not interfered with.
