The rainfall for the month of August at the Botanical Gardens was 2ins. '94 on 9 days, at the Matilda Hospital, Mount Kellett, it was 2ins. 27 on 6 days, at Fanling, 3ius. 02 on 7 days, and at the Police Station, Taipo, 5ins. 30 on 9 days.
The lowest reading of the barometer (M.S.L.) was 29ins. 519 at 17h on the 2nd. The maximum gust velocity as recorded by the Dines-Baxendell anemograph, was
at the rate of 44 miles per hour at 12h. 00m. on the 8th.
