His Excellency the Governor in Council has been pleased to direct under section 7 of the Public Health and Buildings Ordinance, 1903, Ordinance No. 1 of 1903, that the name of Mr. ROBERT PHILIP SHAW be added to the List of Authorised Architects published in Government Notification No. 754 of the 25th November, 1932.

No. 542.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to recognize, provi- sionally and pending instructions from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, Mr. FABIO RIOS as Consul-General for Panama in Hong Kong.

No. 543.-- His Excellency the Governor, under instructions from the Secretary of State for the Colonies, has been pleased to appoint Mr. EDWARD NEWHOUSE, P.A.S.I., Chartered Surveyor, to be an Assistant Director of Public Works, with effect from the 2nd December, 1932.

Recognition by the Governor in Council of the Voluntary Aid Society known as the Grand Priory in the British Realm of the Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem and authorization of the use by it of the Red Cross on a white ground in certain circumstances.
Whereas it is provided by the Geneva Convention Act, 1911, (1 and 2 Geo. 5, c. 20) that it shall not be lawful for any person to use, for the purposes of his trade or business, or for any other purpose whatsoever, without the authority of the Army Council, the heraldic emblem of the red cross on a white ground formed by reversing the Federal colours of Switzerland, or the words "Red Cross" or "Geneva Cross”, and that if any person acts in contravention of this provision he shall be guilty of an offence against the said Act: And whereas by an Order of His Majesty in Council made on the 23rd day of October 1917 and brought into force in this
