No. 300. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. CYRIL CHAMPKIN, J.P., to be a Member of the Sanitary Board during the absence on leave of Mr. LEONARD CHARLES FENTON BELLAMY, J.P., or until further notice, with effect from the 22nd of May, 1933.

No. 301.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. ARTHUR GEORGE WARNHAM TICKLE, F.R.İ.B.A., F.S.I., to act as Director of Public Works during the absence on leave of the Hon. Mr. RICHARD MCNEIL HENDERSON, M. Inst. C.E., M.I. Mech. E., or until further notice, with effect from 6th May, 1933.

NOTICES.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.

No. 302.-Applications are invited from persons outside the Government Service for two posts in the Local Section of the Senior Clerical and Accounting Staff of the Government, particulars of which are given below :-

SALARY: $750 per annum for the first twelve months, and $800 per annum

thereafter.

During this period the officer will be on probation. If his services. are found satisfactory he will be promoted to Class II with salary $1,200-$150-$4,500 with efficiency bars at $2,400 and $3,600.

CONDITIONS: (a) The Section is confined to persons other than Chinese whose

permanent and only domicile is in the Colony.

(b) Only male candidates between the ages of 21 and 25, who have passed the Matriculation Examination of the Hong Kong University or some equivalent examination can be considered. Birth certificates must be produced.

Forms of application can be obtained on attendance in person at the office of the Chief Clerk, Colonial Secretary's Office, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 5.30 p.m., daily on any week day except Saturday.

Applications must be received at the Colonial Secretariat on or before the 22nd May, 1933.
