The rainfall for the month of January at the Botanical Gardens was Oin. 49 on 6 days, at the Matilda Hospital, Mount Kellett, it was Oin. 49 on 8 days, at Fanling, ()in. '68 on 6 days, and at the Police Station, Taipo, Oin. 69 on 7 days.

The lowest reading of the barometer (M.S.L.) was 29ins. 987 at 15h. 00m. on the 20th.

The maximum gust velocity as recorded by the Dines-Baxendell anemograph, was at the rate of 43 miles per hour at 3h. 51m. on the 20th.
