NOTICES TO MARINERS.
NAMOA ISLAND DISTRICT.
THE Master of the Salvage Steamer Protector reports that on the 15th instant when towing the damaged German Steamer Lydia towards Hongkong, and when off Chauan Bay, she sprang a leak. Every effort was made to beach her and finally she sank in 5 fathoms near the entrance of Chauan Bay. Her masts, funnel and bridge are visible above water, and she lies out of the track of all steamers.

Experimental Submarine Bell Buoy off Shaweishan. Experimental Submarine Bell off North Saddle.
REFERRING to Special Notice to Mariners No. 341, notice is hereby given that the Gas- lighted experimental Submarine Bell Buoy has been moored in 25 feet of water at low water of spring tides. From the Buoy Shaweishan Lighthouse bears N. 66° W., distant 1.6. miles.
Notice is also given that on or about the 11th instant an experimental Submarine Bell: will be placed about 14 miles to the northward of the North Saddle Lighthouse.
