WESTERN APPROACH.
Bank Westward of Alligator Island.
WITH reference to this office Notice to Mariners dated the 10th October, 1910, in- formation has been received from the Commander H.M.S. Waterwitch that at a recent examination of the Bank to the Westward of Alligator Island, a least depth of 29 feet was obtained in the following position (from Chart 2404) :—
Raffles Light House bearing S. 72 E. 2-6 miles.
Tree Island bearing S. 511⁄2 W. 2·8 miles.
North West Point Pulo Sablu bearing N. 10 E. 2.5 miles.
Approximate Latitude.....
Approximate Longitude
1° 10' 8 N. 103° 42′ 2 E.
From this position in directions N. 50 W. 24 cables and S. 52 E. 44 cables are several shoal heads with depths of from 30 to 33 fect.
All bearings are magnetic. Variation 1o E.
This notice affects Admiralty Charts Nos. 2404, 2403, 795, 2757 and 3543 and China Sea Directory Volume 1 1906 page 223.

LOCAL NOTICE TO MARINERS No. 111.
Proposed Changes in Buoyage of Harbour Entrance.
NOTICE is hereby given that the entrance to the Harbour will shortly be marked by two 6 feet Nun Buoys, painted Black and Red respectively, between which vessels should pass nearer the Black Buoy, which is moored about 40 yards to the North-westward of the Niuta Rocks. Then a course towards Umbrella Point may be steered.

NOTICE is hereby given that a red Buoy has been placed to mark the north-eastern edge of the Middle Sandbank. From the Buoy the northern extremity of Taseu or Spiteful Island bears N. 67° E. (magnetic), distant 5 cables.
