THE TRADE MARKS ORDINANCE, 1909.

Application for Registration of a Trade Mark,

is that

LAND CHINA HANDELSCOMPAGNIE (HOLLAND CHINA TRADING COMPANY) of Victoria in the Colony of Hongkong, Mer- chants, have on the 25th day of April, 1910, applied for the registration in Hongkong of a Trade Mark in Class 23 in respect of Sewing Cotton.

The Trade Mark consists of a large oblong label containing the representation of a fact- ory, with an open gate into a road in the foreground, and green hills in the background, with the words HOLLAND CHINA TRADING

Co., and, beneath them, the Chinese characters on the sky in the picture; and, at the bottom of the label, the words "extra machine thread-made in Bel- gium", within a scroll or shield. On each corner of the label appears at ornamentation.

The Trade Mark also consists of two small circular labels, the larger one of which con- tains the representation of a lion's face within a small circle surrounded by the Chinese

Characters 香港好時洋行, and, at

the bottom, a figure or numeral within a shield. The smaller of the two circular labels also contains the representation of a lion's face within a circle, around which are the words HOLLAND CHINA TRADING Co.

The three labels of which a representation is deposited for inspection in the Office of the Registrar of Trade Marks are used together on boxes containing sewing cotton.

Complete Specification and Letters Patent required by the above mentioned Ordinances have been duly filed in the Office of the Re- gistrar of Trade Marks of Hongkong and that it is the intention of the above nained FRE- DERICK BAKER and LESSER JACOBS by MATTHEW JOHN DENMAN STEPHENS their Solicitor and Agent to apply to His Excel- lency the Officer Administering the Govern- ment for Letters Patent for the exclusive use within the Colony of Hongkong of the said Invention.
