HARBOUR MASTER'S DEPARTMENT.

No. S. 24.—It is hereby notified that information has been received from the Military Authorities that Gun Practice will be carried out as under :-

On Thursday and Friday, the 24th and 25th February, 1910:-

From Lyemun and Devil's Peak in a North-Easterly and South-Easterly direction, commencing at 10 a.m. each day, and finishing (if the range is clear) at about 1 p.m.

If the weather is unfavourable on either of the above dates, practice will take place on the following day.

All ships, junks and other vessels are to keep clear of the range.

HARBOUR NOTIFICATION.

No. 2 of 1910.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Treaty Power Consuls have authorized the following Amendment to Clause 32 of the Harbour Regulations for the Port of Shanghai:-

32. All vessels under steam shall, when to the westward of the lower end of the Standard Oil Company's Wharf and under way, go at such speed only as is necessary to keep them well under command.

Commanders of vessels disregarding this Rule will be held responsible for any damage the wash of their vessels may cause to wharves, pontoons and vessels lying thereat and to properly laden craft within the limit above described.

Heretofore the limit within which steam vessels were directed to go slow was to the westward of the International Dock ”.
