INDIA--EAST COAST-BAY OF BENGAL.

Specifying exact date of removal of the lights at the old entrance and of exhibition of lights at the new entrance to the Madras Harbour.

It is hereby notified for the information of Mariners that the old entrance to the Madras Harbour will be closed and the changes in lights of the description given in this Office Notice to Mariners No. 38 of 1909 will be made on January 1st, 1910.

Cape Rachalo-New Light.

THE new light on Cape Rachado has now been established. It is visible all round the horizon.

EXPERIMENTAL ACETYLENE GAS-BUOY MOORED OFF HOMMOKU.

NOTICE is hereby given that the following experimental acetylene gas-buoy has been moored about 40 yards southwestward of Hommoku Lightbuoy at the entrance to Yoko- bama Harbour :-

Name:-Hommoku-oki experimental acetylene gas-buoy,

Construction and painting :—Iron can, painted in deep brown, surmounted by a lattice work supporting the lantern.

Height of light :-About 11 feet above the water.

Character of light :-Acetylene gas occulting white light, occulting period may be changed for experiments.

Depth of water :-About 6 fathoms of water at L.W.S.T.

NO LIGHT SHOWN FROM OKINO-SU LIGHTBUOY.

NOTICE is hereby given that the light is not shown, for the present, from Okino-su Lightbuoy on the north side of Okino-su, Shiaku-seto, Inland Sea, owing to a breakdown of its illuminating apparatus.
