Specifying exact date of alteration in character of the light at Muttum Point.

It is hereby notified for the information of Mariners that the alteration in character of the light at Muttum Point referred to in this Office Notices to Mariners, Nos. 7, 14 and 36 of 1909 will be made a few days earlier than was notified in Notice No. 36, and the new flashing light will be exhibited on and after the 1st January, 1910.

WILL CREEK (PORT PRICE).

MASTERS of vessels and others are informed that a pile beacon, painted black, with square head, has been placed in 4ft. at L.W.S. to mark the south side of the entrance to Will Creek. The entrance marked by this beacon is about 11⁄2 miles S.S.E. of the entrance marked on the Admiralty charts. Approx. position-Lat. 34° 17′ S., long. 138° 24′ E.

This affects Admiralty charts Nos. 23898 and 2152.

INVESTIGATOR STRAIT-SANDY POINT.

Also that a pile beacon, painted black, with diamond-shaped head, has been placed off Sandy Point in 6ft. at L.W.S. to mark the N.W. side of the passage inside the Sandy Point Shoal. Approx. position-Lat. 35° 10' S.; long. 137° 211 E.

This affects Admiralty chart No. 2389A.

MALACCA STRAIT.

Cape Rachado New Light.

THE new light on Cape Rachado will be exhibited on or about the 15th January, 1910. The light, second order, group flashing, is elevated 388 feet above high water and will show three flashes in quick succession every ten seconds, thus :-

Flash .23 seconds; Eclipse 1.43 seconds.

The light will be visible 26 miles, and the intensity of the beam 140,000 candle

power.
