COLONIAL SECRETARY'S Department.
No. 358. With reference to Government Notificatious Nos. 63, 138, 177 and 113 of the 16th February, 1895, the 9th April, 1896, the 25th March, 1901, and the 22nd February, 1907, respectively, it is hereby notified that, in accordance with Article 21 of the Treaty of Commerce and Navigation between Great Britain and Japan signed at London on the 16th July, 1894, the Japanese Government has given notice to His Majesty's Govern- ment of its wish to terminate the treaty as from the 17th July, 1911, together with the Supplementary Convention and tariff dated the 16th July, 1895.
The Japanese Government has also expressed the desire that the Convention of the 26th April, 1900, respecting the protection of the property of deceased persons may cease to have effect from the 17th July, 1911.
Negotiations have been opened by the Japanese Government for a new Commercial
Treaty.

No. 359.-It is hereby notified that all persons intending to apply for Seamen's Boarding House Licences for the year 1910-1911, under Section 3 of Ordinance 10 of 1899, should send in their applications in writing to this Office, on or before Tuesday, the 22nd November, 1910, stating accurately the position of the house.
Before a licence can be issued, the applicant will be required to produce the consent of a Police Magistrate.
