No. 708.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, under Section 7 of the Public Health and Buildings Amendment Ordinance, 1903, (Ordinance No. 23 of 1903), Inspector DAVID MCHARDY to be a Sanitary Inspector for Kowloon City vice Sergeant GEORGE SIM, with effect from the 1st ultimo.

No. 709.-It is hereby notified that, in accordance with Section 2 of the Public Holidays Ordinance, 1875, (Ordinance No. 2 of 1875), Thursday, the 25th of November, 1909, being the day on which His Majesty's Birthday is ordered to be kept, will be kept ,as a Public Holiday in the Colony.
No. 710. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to exclude, under the pro- visions of Section 3 of the Public Holidays Ordinance, 1875, (Ordinance No. 2 of 1875), the Police Magistrates' Department from the operation of the said Ordinance on Thursday, the 25th day of November, 1909.
No. 711.-It is hereby notified that information has been received from the Com- mandant, Hongkong Volunteer Corps, that Gun Practice will be carried out in the New Territories as under :-
On Tuesday, the 16th November:-
From Custom's Pass in a North-Westerly direction, at ranges up to 3,000
yards, commencing at 3 p.m., and finishing at 5 p.m.
On Wednesday, the 17th November :-
From Custom's Pass in an Easterly and North-Easterly direction, at ranges
up to 5,000 yards, commencing at 9 a.m., and finishing at 5 p.m..
On Friday, the 19th November:-

From Custom's Pass in an Easterly direction, at ranges up to 5,000 yards,
commencing at 9 a.m., and finishing at 5 p.m.
On Saturday, the 20th November :-
