An Ordinance to provide for the Reservation of certain lands in Victoria, in the Peak District, and in Kowloon as Recreation Grounds, and to provide for Regulations as to the use thereof.

Be it enacted by the Governor of Hongkong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:-
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Recreation Grounds Ordinance, 1909.

2.-(L) The pieces of land situate in Victoria, in the Peak District, and in Kowloon, respectively known as Blake Gardens", "West End Park", "Peak Gardens", and King's Park ", delineated and shown on plans marked respectively Blake Gardens", West End Park", "Peak Gardens” and “King's Park " signed by the Director of Public Works and countersigned by the Governor and deposited in the Land Office of this Colony shall be hence- forth reserved as open spaces and be appropriated for the purposes of public recreation: Provided that if at any time hereafter it shall appear to the Governor that it is necessary or desirable in the interest either of the Imperial Government or of the Government of this Colony, that such land or any portion thereof should be re-appropriated, it shall be lawful for the Governor to re-appropriate such land or any portion thereof and to use it or allow its use for other purposes.
(2.) Notice of such re-appropriation shall be forthwith published in the Gazette.
3. The said pieces of land by this Ordinance reserved and appropriated are hereby declared to be public places within the meaning of the Public Places Regulation Ordinance, 1870, and all regulations relating to
Blake Gardens", "West End Park", and "King's Park, Kow- toon" heretofore made under the said Ordinance and now in force are hereby confirmed and shall be deemed to apply respectively to the pieces of land shewn on the said plaus 115 "Blake Gardens ". "West End Park", and King's Park respectively in the same manner as if such regula- tions had been made after the passing of this Ordinance.
