No. 641. In accordance with Section 168 of Ordinance 1 of 1903, it is hereby noti fied that the Government proposes to erect a public latrine on Crown Land in Nelson Street, Mongkoktsui, adjoining K.I.L. 958.

If any owner or occupier of property in the immediate vicinity of such site objects to such erection, such objection must be sent in writing to the Colonial Secretary so as to reach his office not later than the 29th October, 1909.

Such objection must state the reasons and specify the property with regard to the ownership or occupation of which such objection is made and the interest therein of the objector.

No. 642. It is hereby notified that tenders will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Tuesday, the 26th October, 1909, for-

The general surface scavenging of, and the collection and removal of household and trade refuse, animal manure and sewer deposits from the City of Victoria and Hill District to the dust boat stations, for the period of three years from the 1st day of January, 1910.

For conditions of contract and full particulars, apply at this Office, " Beaconsfield ”.

No tender will be considered, unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Treasury the sum of $250 as a pledge of the bona fides of his tender, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if any tenderer fails or refuses to carry out his tender, should the tender be accepted.

For form of tender apply at the Colonial Secretary's Office.

The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract containing conditions to be prescribed by the Board and also to give security by two sureties to the satisfaction of His Excellency the Governor in the sum of $6,000; failing compliance with these require- ments the sum deposited with the tender will be forfeited.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

No. 643.—It is hereby notified that tenders will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until noon of Monday, the 25th October, 1909, for the erection of a Public Latrine at Nelson Street, Mongkoktsni.

No work will be permitted on Sundays.

For Form of tender, specification and further particulars apply at this Office. The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
