TSUTSU-ZAKI BEACON LIGHT SHOWN.
Notice is hereby given that Tsutsu-zaki Beacon Light on Ose shoal off Tsutsu-zaki, southwestern end of Tsushima (see Notification No. 781 of Department of Communications, August 1909) has been shown
Position:-Lat. 34° 5' 34" N., and Long. 129° 9' 37" E. (according to the Japanese
Admiralty Chart No. 173).
Construction and painting :--Circular concrete tower with black and white vertical
stripes.
Height of light:-67 feet above the water.
Character of light:-Fifth order flashing white light, showing a flash every 15
seconds.
Illuminated are:--From S. 79° W., through W., N., E. and S., to S. 7° 30′ W
(the magnetic bearings taken from the sea).
Candle power:-1,500.
Distance visible:-14 nautical miles in clear weather.
Note:-
The light is unwatched. some delay in relighting it.

MEDICAL DEPARTMENT.
No. 588.-It is hereby notified that tenders will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until noon of Saturday, the 16th October, 1909, for the supply of Aerated Waters; Bedding and Clothing; Beers, Spirits, Wines, etc.; Chemical, Drugs, and Surgical Instru- ments and Sundries; Furniture, etc.; Milk, etc.; Provisions, Sundries; and Washing; (Schedules Nos. 1 to 9) required locally, to this Department, for the period of one year, from the 1st of January next inclusive.
Tenders may be made for all the nine Schedules or for each separately.
Tenders must be in duplicate and in sealed envelopes, endorsed "Tender for Medical Department Contract”.
No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Treasury the sum of $200, as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if such person refuses to carry out his tender should the tender be accepted.
The Contractor will be required to enter into a bond for the due fulfilment of his con- tract, and for the supply of all articles of the best quality.
The Contractor for Schedules Nos. 6 and 7 will be required to deliver the supplies for the Victoria Hospital for Women and Children at the Hospital on Barker Road (Peak).
The Contractor for Schedule No. 7 will be required to supply store accommodation ample enough for the housing of Provisions, and such store must be kept in a sanitary con-
dition.
The Contractor for Schedule No. 9 will be required to collect the bedding and clothing at the Civil Hospital, and Victoria Hospital for Women and Children on Barker Road (Peak) returning the same to these Institutions when washed.
Except where otherwise stated, the Contractor will be required to deliver all supplies, etc., free from any additional charge, beyond that stated in his tender.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
For form of tender apply at the Colonial Secretary's Office.
All other informations may be obtained from the Principal Civil Medical Officer at the Civil Hospital.
