No. 602.—It is hereby notified that a meeting of His Majesty's Justices of the Peace for the Colony will be held at the Magistracy, at 2.15 p.m., on Monday, the 4th October, 1909, for the purpose of considering the following application under the Liquor Licences Ordinances, 8 of 1898 and 8 of 1908, riz. :-

From one JULIUS PHILIPE SOMMER for an Adjunct Licence to sell by retail intoxicating liquors on premises numbered 34, Queen's Road Central, under the sign of the Vienna Café Company, Limited”.

No. 603.-It is hereby notified that the following Sales of Crown Land by Public Auction will be held at the District Land Office, Beaconsfield, Hongkong, at 2.30 p.m., on Thursday, the 30th day of September, 1909.

The Lots are sold for the term of Seventy-five years from the 1st day of July, 1898, with the right of renewal for a further term of 24 years less 3 days at a re-assessed Crown Rent, Lot No. 671 as a Threshing Floor and Lot No. 672 as an Agricultural Lot, subject to the General Conditions of Sale published in Government Notification No. 365 of 1906 and to the special conditions hereunder specified.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS.

1. No buildings to be erected on either of the Lots Nos. 671 or 672.

2. The Crown Rent mentioned in the Particulars of Sale of Lot No. 672 is subject to re-assessment at the end of five years from the date of sale and thereafter such rent shall be paid as shall be fairly and impartially fixed by the Surveyor to His Hajesty the KING, or by such other person as shall be appointed by the Governor of Hongkong for that purpose, as the fair and reasonable rental value of the ground at the expiration of the said period of five years; and a special proviso to that effect shall be inserted in the Crown Lease of the said Lot.
