ENTRANCE TO HOKO HARBOUR.

NOTICE is hereby given that on and after the 15th instant the existing beacon on Fuon, mouth of Hoko Harbour, Pescadores Island, will be altered to a Lighted Beacon, and a Fixed Red Light will be shown from it.
The lantern of the beacon is fixed at the top of an Iron Staff, painted Red, and the centre of the Light will be 26 feet high up from the base.
The Light will illuminate 253 degrees of the horizon from N. 53 deg. W., through north, east and south, to S. 20 deg. W. The bearings are magnetic and from seaward.
The intensity of the Light will be a little under 100 candles. The Light will be 34 feet high above high water and visible in clear weather at a distance of 6 nautical miles.
The Light being to be kept burning day and night by self-feeding arrangement, with- out attendance of a keeper, should it go out by accident, there may be some delay before relighting it. Mariners are hereby cautioned accordingly.

HONGKONG OPIUM FARM.
Notice is hereby given that Sealed Tenders will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office, Hongkong, till Noon on Tuesday, the 31st day of August, 1909, for the purchase of the privileges known as the Opium Farm established under "The Prepared Opium Ordinances, 1891-1909 ", that is to say, the sole privilege of preparing Opium and of Selling, within the Colony, (including the New Territories), Opium so prepared, inclusive of the privilege of collecting dross and of preparing and dealing in Dross Opium, for three years from the 1st of March, 1910.
Full information as to conditions of tendering, etc., can be obtained from the Colonial Treasurer, and the conditions of tendering and form of grant have been published in Govern- ment Gazette as Notification No. 401 of the 2nd July, 1909.
