NOTICES TO MARINERS.

TRANSLATION.

Notification No. 510 of Department of Communications.

NOTICE is hereby given that the Hayatomo-seto tidal observation lightbuoy (see Noti- fication No. 499 of Department of Communications, May 1909) and Kurushima Strait tida! observation lightbuoy (see Notification No. 502 of Department of Communications, May 1909) have been moored as follows :

Hayatomo-seto Tidal Observation Lightbuoy :

Position N. side of Hayatomo-seto, Shimonoseki Strait.

Construction and painting :-Iron frustum of cone, white, surmounted by a lattice-

work supporting the lantern.

Height of light-About 10 feet above the water. Character of light:-Pintsch's gas fixed green light. Illuminated are: -The whole horizon.

Visible distance : -3 nautical miles in clear weather. Depth of water:-11 fathoms water at L.W.S.T.

Magnetic bearings taken from the buoy :-

Dan-no-ura Lighthouse...

Kanabuse Beacon Light

Mark on Moji-zaki

.N. 76° 50′E.

.S. 4° 45′ W.

Kurushima Strait Tidal Observation Lightbuoy":

Position :- W. side of Chu-suido, Kurushima Strait.

Construction and painting :- Iron cylindrical, white, surmounted by a latticework

supporting the lantern.

Height of light :----- About 10 feet above the water.

Character of light:-Aceton-gas flashing white light, showing one flash every 4

seconds.

Illuminated are :—' -The whole horizon.

Visible distance : -8 nautical miles in clear weather.

-About & fathoms water at L.W.S.T.

Depth of water :-)

NOTICE is hereby given that the character of the Wangmoon Beacon Light will be changed from White to Red from the 15th June, 1909.
