1. The Crown Rent mentioned in the Particulars of Sale is subject to re-assessment at the end of the first five years of the terin for which the Lots are sold, and thereafter such rent shall be paid as shall be fairly and impartially fixed by the Surveyor to His Majesty the KING, or by such other person as shall be appointed by the Governor of Hongkong for that purpose, as the fair and reasonable rental value of the ground at the expiration of the said period of five years; and a special proviso to that effect shall be inserted in the Crown Lease of the said Lots.

2. The Purchaser shall not during the term for which the Lots are sold permit or allow the land to remain uncultivated according to the custom of the country for a continuous period of five consecutive years at any time after the date of sale: and a covenant to that effect shall be inserted in the Crown Leases of the Lots.

3. No Buildings shall be erected on the Lots.

PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT.

No. 344.-It it hereby notified that sealed tenders will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until noon of Monday, the 21st June, for the letting of a piece of Crown. Land on East side of Albany Nullah between Kennedy and Macdonnell Roads opposite Kingsclere, as shewn on Plan which can be seen at the Public Works Department, area about 13,900 square feet, for the purpose of raising Ferns and Pot Plants; from the 24th June 1909 to the 24th June 1910 subject to the conditions below :-

Each tender should bear on the cover the words "Tender for Perinission to occupy Crown Land near Kingsclere".

The Government does not bind itself to accept the highest or any tender.

Forms of tender and further particulars can be obtained at this Office.

1. The area leased to be that tinted pink on a plan signed by the Director of Public Works and dated 28th May, 1909.

2. The amount of monthly Crown Rent to be stated in tender. In the event of any tender being accepted, the amount stated in such tender to be paid monthly in advance into the Treasury.

3. Should the Permittee be allowed to remain in occupation of the land after expiry of this permit the tenancy to become a half-yearly one, subject to cancellation on two months' notice being given at any time.

4. Any structure for the reception of plants to be approved by the Director of Public Works.

5. No person to live on the premises and no matsheds will be permitted to be erected on the ground.

6. No offensive manure to be used and the place is to be kept in a tidy state.

7. Access to Albany Nullah is not to be interfered with. cancellation should any of these conditions be not fulfilled.
