No. 306.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint PATRICK NICHOLAS HILL JONES to act as Director of Public Works during the absence on leave of the Honourable Mr. WILLIAM CHATHAM, C.M.G., or until further notice, with effect from the 22nd instant.

No. 307. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint, provisionally and subject to His Majesty's pleasure, PATRICK NICHOLAS HILL JONES to be a Member of the Executive and Legislative Councils, during the absence on leave of the Honourable Mr. WILLIAM CHATHAM, C.M.G., or until further notice, with effect from the 22nd instant.

No. 308. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, with the approval of the Secretary of State for the Colonies, to appoint CHARLES WILLIAM MALBEYSE BECKWITH, Assistant Harbour Master, to be Assistant Superintendent of Police in charge of the Water Police, in addition to his other duties, with effect from the 15th instant.

No. 309. It is hereby notified that Monday, the 31st instant, being a Bank Holiday under the provisions of the Public Holidays Ordinance, 1875, (Ordinance No. 2 of 1875), will be observed as a Government Holiday.

No. 310.—It is hereby notified with reference to the regulations contained in Govern- ment Notification No. 259 of the 24th April, 1903, that the Colonial Auxiliary Forces Long Service Medal has been granted to Company Sergeant-Major B. W. GREY and Bombardier H. E. CRADDOCK, Hongkong Volunteer Corps, under the provisions of the Royal Warrant dated the 18th day of May, 1899, as amended by the Royal Warrant dated the 3rd day of Angust, 1902.

No. 312.-It is hereby notified that MAX HEINRICH WILHELM HODING of Or Blei- chen 30, Hamburg in the Empire of Germany, Merchant, has, by assignment, become entitled to the trade mark registered on the 12th October, 1903, in the name of CHARLES HUDSON, trading as JOHN HUDSON & Co., in respect of Packing for steam, water and gas joints, in Class 50 (9).
