NOTICES.
COLONIAL SECRETARY'S DEPARTMENT.
No. 276.-Notification issued by His Excellency Sir FREDERICK JOHN DEALTRY LUGARD, Knight Commander of the Most Distinguished Order of Saint Michael and Saint George, Companion of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath, Companion of the Distin- guished Service Order, Governor and Commander-in-Chief of the Colony of Hongkong and its Dependencies and Vice-Admiral of the same.
Whereas it is necessary in order to prevent Disputes hereafter to make Rules regulating the terms upon which persons shall be permitted to make and to maintain and repair graves on Crown Land in the New Territories. Now I, the said Sir FREDERICK JOHN DEALTRY LUGARD do hereby direct that no person shall be permitted to make or maintain or repair any grave on Crown Land in the Northern District of the New Territories unless the follow- ing Rules shall be observed :-
1. Every person desiring to make a new grave or to maintain or repair an existing one shall first obtain from the Land Office at Taipo a written permit to do so, when such permit is granted the Land Officer will cause the grave mentioned in the permit to be registered in the Land Office and will grant to the person apply- ing for the same a certified extract from the register for which a fee of 50 cents will be charged in respect of each new grave and a fee of 25 cents in respect of each existing grave.
2. The registration of any grave gives no title or property therein but will be recng- nized as evidence that at the date of registration the registered owner was the person entitled to conduct the worship at such grave.
3. An existing grave means a grave actually occupied at the date of registration and
worshipped within one year previous to such registration.
4. In no case will burial urns be registered but unoccupied graves may be registered
at the discretion of the Land Officer.

No. 278.—It is hereby notified that the KRESS & OWEN COMPANY, a corporation organized and doing business under the laws of the State of New York, and having its prin- cipal place of business in the Borough of Manhattan, in said County and State of New York, has complied with the requirements of Ordinance 6 of 1898, for the registration in this Colony of its Mark No. 59 of 1909, as applied to Medicinal remedies, in Class 3; and that the saine has been duly registered.
