No. 201.

Rule made by the Governor-in-Council under Section 18 of the Prison Ordinance, 1899, (Ordinance No. 4 of 1899), this 26th day of March, 1909.

Rule 312a, made by Governor-in-Council on the 17th day of August, 1908, and published in Government Notification No. 574 of 1908, is hereby amended by the insertion in the first line thereof of the words "sentenced by Courts-Martial" between the word

'prisoner" and the word "who".

No. 202.

Regulations made by the Governor-in-Council under Section 23 of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, (Ordinance No. 10 of 1899), this 26th day of March, 1909,

The Instructions for Owners or Agents of Infected Vessels made by the Governor-in- Council on the 23rd day of November, 1908, and published in Government Notification No. 852 of 1908, are hereby amended by the deletion of Instruction 1 (e) and by the substitu- tion for Instruction 2 of the following:-

"2. In addition the Owners or Agents aforesaid shall pay to the Government such charges as the Health Officer of the Port, by certificate under his hand, may certify to have been incurred by Government for medical comforts, for the cleansing and disinfection of the vessel, or of the merchandise on board of her, from which the passengers and crew have been removed, and for the burial of the bodies of any of the passengers or crew who may die in the Station. They shall also refund to the Government the cost of scavenging the Station at a rate of cent per head per day of the passengers and crew.'

No. 203.

Rules made by the Governor-in-Council under Sub-section (8) of Section 4 of the Merchant Shipping Ordinance, 1899, (Ordin- ance No. 10 of 1899), this 26th day of March, 1909.

The amended rules for the conduct of examinations for certificates in the Mercantile Marine, made by the Governor-in-Council on the 1st day of December, 1908, and published in Government Notification No. 912 of 1908, are hereby amended

(a) by the deletion from rule 20A of the words "For the voluntary examination in signalling, candidates must be able to make and take in Morse and Semaphore signals at the rate prescribed in Board of Trade Circular 1444."

(6) by the substitution in rule 20в (5) of the words "made by the Governor-in-

Council" for the words " (1904) issued by the Board of Trade".

No. 204.-Notice is hereby given that the Governor-in-Council has cancelled the regulations for the Hongkong Fire Brigade made under the provisions of the Fire Brigade Ordinance, 1868, (Ordinance No. 2 of 1868), on the 8th day of December, 1882, and pub- lished in Government Notification No. 473 of 1882.
