Approaches to Hong Kong.

Tathong Channel, Laitong Island: -

The Fog Bell on Lamtong mi has been removed and will be replaced about the

middle of February, 1928.

Obstruction to Navigation.

Warning is hereby given that survey operations will be carried out from time to time in connection with the Dredging of the area at Kowloon Point (see Gazette notice - No. 254 of 27th September, 1927). Masters of vessels are warned to keep clear of all sampaus, motor boats and buoys used on this work which shall each carry a red flag and to keep a good lookout for all craft so employed.

In reference to the restrictions as to navigation, anchoring of ships and use of buoys in the vicinity of Belcher Ridge and Rambler Shoal, Notices S. 167 and S. 200 gazetted 8th July, 1927, and Angust 19th, 1927 respectively, are hereby cancelled.

No. . 342.-It is hereby notific 1 that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should. be clearly marked "Tender for the supply and delivery of Asphaltum ", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Friday, the Lith day of December, 1927, for the supply and delivery of the following Stores required by this Department for period commencing 1st January, 1928 to 30th June, 1928-

Asphaltum, Penetrations H150......100 tons of 2,240 lbs. (estimated quantity only).

Each Tenderer must produce with each tender a receipt that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sun of Dollars One hundred ($100), as a pledge of the bond fides of his tender, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, should the Tenderer refuse or fail to carry out to the satisfaction of the Government, the whole or any portion of the tender or tenders, which may be accepted. The deposit will be returned to any Tenderer whose tender is not accepted.

For form of tender and further particulars apply at this Office.

The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.
