Short title.
Substitution of "Com- mandant
for "adminis- trative com- mandant."
Amendment
INTITULED
An Ordinance to amend further the Volunteer
Ordinance, 1920.
Be it enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof, as follows:---
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the Volunteer Amendment Ordinance, 1927.
2. The term "Commandant shall be substituted for the term "administrative commandant", wherever that term occurs in the Volunteer Ordinance, 1920, or the regulations made thereunder.
3. Section 3 of the Volunteer Ordinance, 1920, is of Ordinance amended by the insertion of the following sub-section No. 2 of 1920, at the end thereof :---

Amendment
(3) Any such corps may include any number of auxiliary units, the members of which shall be volunteers, or officers as the case may be, for all the purposes of this Ordinance.
4. Section 5 (3) of the Volunteer Ordinance, 1920,
of Ordinance is amended as follows:- No. 2 of 1920,
8. 5 (3).
Amendment
(a) The words "other than a member of an auxiliary unit," are inserted immediately after the word "volunteer" in the second line thereof.

(b) The words "at least are inserted imme- diately before the words "three years" in the third line thereof.
(e) The following provison is added at the end
thereof :-
"Provided also that nothing in this sub- "section shall relieve any volunteer from the obligation to comply with the provi- "sions of sub-section (1) if he wishes to
quit the corps".

5. Section 16 (1) of the Volunteer Ordinance, 1920,
of Ordinance is amended as follows:-
No. 2 of 1920,
s. 16 (1).
(a) Paragraphs (1), (2), (3) and (4) are re- numbered as paragraphs (i), (ii), (iii) and (iv) respectively.
(b) The word "parade" is substituted for the word "corps" in the twelfth and thirteenth lines of paragraph (iv) as so renumbered. (c) The following paragraph is added at the
end thereof :-
() Release from arrest under the provisions of paragraph (iv) shall be without prejudice to any subse- quent proceedings for discharge under the provisions of this sub-section.
