No. S. 348.-The following draft of regulations proposed to be made under the intended Hong Kong Police Reserve Ordinance, 1927, is published for general informa- tion.

Draft Regulations.

Regulations made by the Governor in Council under section 3 of the Hong Kong Police Reserve Ordinance, 1927, Ordinance No. of 1927, on the

day of

1. Every person desirous of becoming a member of the Reserve shall make applica- tion to the Captain Superintendent of Police in accordance with the form in the Appendix to these Regulations.

2. Every member of the Reserve who is desirous of resigning from the Reserve shall give one month's notice in writing to the Captain Superintendent: provided that :-

(1) no such notice shall be given while the Reserve is called out for active

service;

(2) it shall be lawful for the Captain Superintendent to dispense with the

notice in such cases as he may deem proper.

3.-(1) Members of the Reserve shall be entitled to pay only during such period as the Reserve shall be called out.

(2) All officers of the Reserve above the rank of sergeant shall be entitled to pay for the full period during which the Reserve is called out. Such pay shall be as follows:-

Deputy Superintendent at the rate of Assistant Superintendent at the rate of... Chief Inspector at the rate of .....

Inspector at the rate of

Sub-Inspector at the rate of

(3) All members below the rank of Sub-Inspector shall be entitled to pay when the Reserve is called out but only for the days on which they are actually employed on duty. Such pay

shall be as follows:-
