No. 720.

Regulations made by the Governor in Council under section 5 of the Ferries Ordi- nance, 1917, Ordinance No. 28 of 1917, on the 7th day of December, 1927.

1. The regulations made by the Governor in Council under the Ferries Ordinance, 1917, set forth on pages 744-754 of the Regulations of Hong Kong, 1844-1925, under the heading "I.-CENTRAL." and amended as appears in Government Notification No. 309 of 1926, are hereby further amended by the rescission of the second or final proviso in regulation 3 (on page 744) and the substitution of the following proviso therefor :-

Provided further that such extensions together with the period for which the licence was granted shall not in any case exceed in the whole a period of eighteen years.

2. The said regulation 3, amended as above, shall apply to all licences already granted or which may hereafter be granted, in respect of any area, under the Ferries Ordinance, 1917.

NOTE.-The effect of the regulations is to make the possible maximum the same for all ferry licences.

No. 721-His Excellency the Governor in Council has been pleased to direct under section 7 of the Public Health and Buildings Ordinance, 1903, Ordinance No. 1 of 1903, that the name of Mr. ARTHUR MYLO be added to the List of Authorized Architects published in Government Notification No. 408 of the 10th July, 1925.

APPOINTMENTS, &c.

No. 722.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint LAM PING (*) to be a "Forest Officer" for the control and superintendence of the forests of the Colony, with effect from 1st December, 1927.

No. 723.-The King's Exequatur empowering Mr. JOHN J. MUCCIO to act as a Consul for the United States of America in Hong Kong, has received His Majesty's signature.
