EXECUTIVE COUNCIL.

No. 485.--It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor in Council has given directions for the rescission of the Order of the 4th May, 1927, published in the Gazette of the 6th May, 1927, as Government Notification No. 265, declaring Saigon to be a place at which an infectious or contagious disease prevailed, and the same is hereby rescinded.

Regulation made by the Governor in Council under section 3 of the Licensing Ordi- nance, 1887, Ordinance No. 8 of 1887, on the 25th day of August, 1927.

The second Schedule to the regulations relating to hawkers licences, made by the Governor in Council and set forth on pages 119-131 of the Regulations of Hong Kong, 1844-1925, is hereby amended as follows:-

(1) by the rescission of condition 11 of hawkers itinerant licences and the substi-

tution therefor of the following condition,-

11. The licensee must have with him the licence board supplied to him in respect of the current period of his licence, and must keep the said board exhibited in such manner and position that it is conspi- cuous and the number thereon may be seen. The licensee must at all times when hawking carry his licence and produce the same to any police officer on demand.

(2) by the substitution of the words "Leighton Hill Road and Wong Nei Chung Road" for the words "and Leighton Hill Road" in sub-paragraph id) of paragraph (1) of condition 13.

NOTES:-The amendments only affect hawkers itinerant licences. The wording of former condition 11 is somewhat changed and provision is made for production of licences to police officers.

Wong Nei Chung Road is added to the list of roads in which hawkers' cries are prohibited.

COLONIAL SECRETARY'S Department.

No. 487. With reference to Government Notification No. 298 of 28th May, 1926, it is hereby notified that the treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation of the 16th of October, 1884, between the United Kingdom and the Republic of Paraguay will con- tinue in force for twelve months from the 25th of February, 1927, with the following modifications, namely:-

(a) Paraguay reserves the right to grant special advantages in the way of Customs preference or facilities in favour of the goods, produce, or manufactures of any neighbouring country.

(b) Article 8 of the Treaty is definitely abrogated.
