No. 281.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Gunner CHARLES PEAKE ANDERSON, M.C., to be Second Lieutenant in the Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps, with effect from 6th May, 1927.

No. 282.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint SUN FUNG (A) to be a "Forest Officer" for the control and superintendence of the Forests of the Colony, in succession to IP SHAM () dismissed, with effect from 1st May,

No. 284. The following is published for general information.

By a notice published in the London Gazette on the 15th February, 1927, the Arbitrator appointed under Clause 4 of the Annex to Section IV. of Part X. of the Treaty of Versailles to assess the amount of claims by British nationals growing out of acts committed by the German Government, or by any German Authorities, since 31st July, 1914, and before the 4th August, 1914, has prescribed that, in the case of claimants resident in Great Britain and Northern Ireland, all such claims must be lodged with him at 2, Cavendish Square, London, W.1, before the expiration of two months from the date of the publication of the notice, i.e., 15th February, 1927.

In the case of British nationals resident in Hong Kong the period of two months from the date of publication of the notice is extended to 30th June, 1927.

All claimants who have claims of this nature should submit their claims to the Arbitrator in triplicate. The claims should be lodged by the claimants themselves, or by their solicitors, or other duly authorised Agents, acting for them on their behalf.
