In accordance with section 8 of the aforesaid Ordinance, any claimant to the moneys may present a petition on that behalf to the Supreme Court against the Attorney General as respondent thereto.

Any claimant who has a moral claim may present a petition in writing to the Governor in Council praying for payment of any such sums and any order made by the Governor in Council thereon shall be a bar to the extent of any payment made under such order to any subsequent claim against the Crown to the same sum.

No. 196. It is hereby notified that His Excellency the Governor has seen fit to direct, under section 6 of the Gunpowder and Fireworks Ordinance, 1901, Ordinance 14 of 1901, that the following condition be substituted for condition 2 which is set forth on page 284 of the Regulations of Hong Kong, 1844-1925, under the heading Terms and conditions of licence to manufacture fireworks and to store ingredients in connexion therewith.'

2. No explosive ingredient or mixture other than black powder, charcoal, sulphur, saltpetre, aluminium and potassium perchlorate shall be used or kept on the premises.

No single container in any firework shall contain more than 10 grains of

explosive mixture in which potassium perchlorate is an ingredient.

No. 197.--It is hereby notified for the information of Owners and Occupiers of tenements that, under the provisions of the Rating Ordinance, 1901, Ordinance No. 6 of 1901, Rates for the Second Quarter of 1927, are payable in advance on or before the 30th April, 1927.

If any person shall fail to pay such Rates on or before the 31st May, 1927, proceedings will be taken in the Supreme Court for their recovery without further notice.

No refund of Rates in respect of vacant tenements will be granted unless such Rates have been paid during and within the month of April, 1927, nor unless application is made for such refund within fifteen days from the expiration of the Quarter.
