APPOINTMENTS, &c.

No. 75.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. Robert HUNTER temporarily to be an Assistant Government Marine Surveyor, with effect from the 31st January, 1927.

No. 76-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased, under the provisions of paragraph 1 of Statute 7 of the Second Schedule of the University Ordinance, 1911, Ordinance No. 10 of 1911, to appoint Professor WALTER BROWN, M.A., B.Sc., F.R.S.E., A.M.I.E.E., to be an additional member of the University Council for three years, with effect from 1st February, 1927.

No. 77.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Mr. Huga ADAIR NISBET to act as Official Receiver, and Registrar of Trade Marks and Patents in addition to his other duties during the absence of Mr. EDWARD LEWIS AGASSIZ, with effect from the 8th February, 1927.

No. 78.-His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to make the following appointments, during the absence on leave of His Honour Sir HENRY COWPER GOLLAN, Kt., C.B. E., or until further notice:

His Honour Mr. JOHN ROSKRUGE WOOD to act as Chief Justice, Mr. JOHN HARRY BARCLAY NIHILL, M.C., to act as Puisne Judge,

No. 79. His Excellency the Governor has been pleased to appoint Lieutenant- Commander JOSEPH BERNARD NEWILL, D.S.O., R.N., to be a Magistrate, with effect from 10th February, 1927.

No. 80. It is hereby notified for general information that the Mexican Govern- ment has agreed, pending the negotiation of a new Treaty, to the suspension for a few months of her denunciation of the Treaty of Friendship, Commerce and Navigation of the 27th of November, 1888, between the United States of Mexico and this country.

The Treaty will now lapse on the 22nd of July, 1927.
