PRISON DEPARTMENT.

No. S. 333.-It is hereby notified, that separate tenders in triplicate, which should be sealed and clearly marked "Tender for the supply of Rations to Indian Prison Staff" for the supply and delivery of the articles therein mentioned as required to the Prison Department, Hong Kong, and the Laichikok Branch Prison, from the 1st January, 1927, to the 31st December, 1927, inclusive, will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Saturday, the 27th November, 1926.

No tender will be considered unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $100 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if such person refuses to carry out his tender.

The successful tenderer will be required to sign an agreement and to give security to the satisfaction of the Government in the sum of $500.

A report dated 3rd inst., has been received from the Master, S.S. Kwaisang that he passed a derelict junk in 22:35 115·17 and it is dangerous to navigation.

The following report dated 4th instant, has been received from the Master S.S. Sunning.

Mast or Pile like obstruction 6 feet high east nine pin bearing S. 25 W. 21

miles.

Shipping is notified that Blasting operations will be in progress at Au Kung Ngam, Shaukiwan, at all hours between 8.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. from 9th November, 1926,

onwards.
