TERRITORY OF NEW GUINEA.
Vacancy for Director of Agriculture.
Applications are invited for appointment as Director of Agriculture in the Territory of New Guinea, administered by the Commonwealth of Australia under mandate from the League of Nations.
The duties of the Director of Agriculture will be to advise on the agricultural deve- lopment of New Guinea (both as to European-managed plantations and native gardens); to supervise scientific inquiries respecting plant diseases, soils, etc.; and to control and manage under the Administrator the Agricultural Department of the Territory.
Applicants must specify the nature of the training they have received in sciences underlying agriculture and also the classes of tropical products in the cultivation of which they have had experience.
The appointment will be in the first instance for five years, with opportunity of renewal if services are satisfactory.
The salary will be not less than £1,000 per annum. Applicants should state the salary they require.
First-class passage to Rabaul via Australia for appointee and family (not exceeding three adult fares) will be provided and return passages if the appointee completes five years service. Three months' furlough will be allowed after two years' service.
Applications setting out full particulars as to age, qualifications, experience and war service, if any, and stating whether married or single, should be addressed to the Official Secretary for Australia, Australia House, Strand, London, W.C. 2, and should reach him not later than 15th December, 1926.

Nature of Measures.
Inspections outside Manila harbour from 20th April. Third class passengers and new crew must comply with the vaccination requirements.
Inspections outside the ports from 1st April. Steerage passengers must comply with the vaccination require- ments. Cabin passengers must produce a vaccina. tion certificate or be vaccinated by ships doctor or quarantine authorities.
Vessels detained at river mouth and passengers and crew vaccinated unless they can produce evidence of successful recent vaccination.
