No. S. 73.—It is hereby notified that information has been received from the Military Authorities that Coast Defence Practice from Devil's Peak did not take place on the 22nd February, 1926, due to weather conditions. This Practice will take place at the same time as Pakshawan on the 26th March, 1926.

KOWLOON-CANTON RAILWAY, BRITISH SECTION.
No. S. 74-It is hereby notified that sealed tenders in triplicate, which should be clearly marked "Tender for the supply of Coal to Kowloon-Canton Railway ", will be received at the Colonial Secretary's Office until Noon of Wednesday, the 24th March, 1926, for the supply of Locomotive Coal to the Kowloon-Canton Railway for the period of one year.
No tender will be received unless the person tendering produces a receipt to the effect that he has deposited in the Colonial Treasury the sum of $250 as a pledge of the bona fides of his offer, which sum shall be forfeited to the Crown, if such person refuses to carry out his tender, if accepted.
The successful tenderer will be required to sign a formal contract and to give security in the sum of $5,000 in cash to be deposited with the Colonial Treasurer for the due and faithful performance of the terms of such contract.
For form of tender and further particulars apply to the Manager, Railway Offices, Kowloon.
The Government does not bind itself to accept the lowest or any tender.

INDIA-EAST COAST-POINT CALIMERE.
Conversion of Light from oil to acetylene.
With reference to Notice to Mariners Nos. 51 of 1925, and 1 of 1926, dated respec- tively 23rd June 1925 and 6th January 1926, it is hereby notified that the conversion of the light at Point Calimere from oil to acetylene, has been carried out, an automatic triple-flashing acetylene light have been installed and exhibited on the evening of the 1st February 1926 and the temporary light previously shown during alteration having been extinguished on the morning of the same date.

A conical buoy painted black with letter 'A' painted in white was replaced on 30th January 1926 in a depth of 33 fathoms, 4 miles eastward of the lighthouse bearing N 85° W (True).
