Government School of Wireless Telegraphy. Post Office Building, Hong Kong.
The School for the training of Asiatic persons as Ships Wireless Operators will be re-opened on January 3rd, 1927.
The following information is given for the guidance of applicants :-
Candidates must be British Subjects and must have a good knowledge of
English.
Approved students will be given one month's trial free, and on the satisfactory completion of trial will be accepted for training in the Government School of Wireless Telegraphy.
The fee will be $10 per month payable to Colonial Treasurer in advance.
The average period of training required for a student to obtain a Coastal Certi-
ficate is from six to nine months.
The pay of a Ship's Operator varies from $60 to $100 per month with food
and accommodation.
The Government do not undertake to employ or to secure employment for successful students but successful students will be eligible for considera- tion for vacancies in the Government W/T Operators staff.
The Government scale of pay for W/T Operators is from $900 to $1,500 per annum according to ability and service. No food is supplied, quarters are provided at out stations and on Government vessels only.
Operators employed by Government who have been trained in the Government W/T School will have their fees refunded after two years' satisfactory service, and will be eligible for appointment to the permanent staff. Applications should be made to the Electrical Engineer, P.W.D., P. & O.

No. 725. It is hereby notified for the information of Owners and Occupiers of tenements that, under the provisions of the Rating Ordinance, 1901, Ordinance No. 6 of 1901, Rates for the First Quarter of 1927, are payable in advance on or before the 31st January, 1927.
If any person shall fail to pay such Rates on or before the 28th February, 1927, proceedings will be taken in the Supreme Court for their recovery without further notice.
No refund of Rates in respect of vacant tenements will be granted unless such Rates have been paid during and within the month of January, 1927, nor unless application is made for such refund within fifteen days from the expiration of the Quarter.
