NUCLEAR ISLAND The National Nuclear Corporation (NNC) are seeking to supply

a licensee the nuclear island by acting as

NNC and for Westinghouse technology.

Westinghouse presently estimate that the value of the contract for the whole nuclear island could be of the order of £1,300m and perhaps as much as 70% of the total value of this contract could come to the UK (ie £1,000M). These figures are subject to further discussion between Westinghouse and NNC, and look very high in relation to the other elements in the package. We are also seeking independent advice on them.

NUCLEAR FUEL £35m+ The UK would seek to supply the fuel under a Westinghouse license, but this again is dependent on a favourable State Department response.

It appears at present that the total value to the UK of an Anglo/American option could be of the order of £1,500M; including the transmission line and support

However, services could take the figure to £1,800M.
