CONFIDENTIAL
relation to the forthcoming Marketing Sub-Group of the Task Force.
Mr Havelock said that he was having a meeting with Dr Marshall the
following day, (at Marshalls personal request), Mr Davidson and Mr Lippitt
urged him to make a statement at the beginning of the Marketing Sub-Group
meeting on 8 January to the effect that HMG's position was to look
equally at both options and to stress that the possibility did exist of
an Anglo/French package. Mr Havelock also said that he had invited
Mr Stewart, Vice Chairman of the NNC, to meet him on 7 January so as to
be able to clarify the activities on the project of the NNC in general,
and Mr Potter in particular.
