POINTS TO MAKE (DEFENSIVE)
1. Governors have received briefing on the Nationality Bill.
2. It is essential to have a distinctive citizenship for the
United Kingdom and another for the dependencies.
3.
The proposals in the Bill are more acceptable to the
dependencies than those contained in the 1977 Green Paper which
did not take separate account of the dependencies.
4. Any queries would be referred to Nationality and Treaty
Department.
