So far, 473 such files have been identified.

is estimated that the number of such files will increase to about
550 by 1996 occupying an area of about 6 m2. These files will be
passed to the HKBCG in April 1997.

You have indicated in your letter of 19 March 1992 that
you may arrange for the sifting of these files by a UK-based DS
officer prior to the transfer (who may be able to authorize
destruction of some of these files). Please advise if there is any
plan to proceed with this alternative.
