FUTURE CONSULATE GENERAL: BRITISH CHAMBER OF COMMERCE

1. I am grateful to Mr Savage for some suggestions for inclusion in a letter of instructions to the BTC to broach with the Building and Lands Department our plans for the British Chamber of Commerce to use accommodation in the future Consulate General building. I now attach a draft letter.

I would be grateful if both Miss Brooks and Mr Savage could let me have their comments on this draft by close of play on 31 August. Mr Cornish will be calling on us on 1 September and Mr Ricketts would like to discuss this matter with him.

3. As you will see from the draft, I anticipate that we will submit this letter to Mr Goodlad before it is dispatched.

I will let you have sight of the covering submission once drafted.
