Further to with the

our telno 1602 regarding the agreement EC on the privileges and immunities for the EC Office in

Hong Kong, we are pleased to inform you that the necessary procedures to give effect to the agreement in Hong Kong have now been completed. The European Commission was notified of this and the notification of the agreement under the International Organisations and Diplomatic Privileges Ordinance (Chapter 190, Laws of Hong Kong) was published in the Gazette on 10 December 1993.

We attach for your reference a copy of the Gazette notification to give legal effect to the privileges and immunities for the EC Office in Hong Kong. I enclose also three copies of the Exchange of Notes so that you can register the agreement at the United Nations in accordance with article 102 of the UN Charter in due course.
