EC COMMISSION OFFICE IN HONG KONG

1. Mr Heathcoat-Amory has seen Anneli Conroy's submission of 20 July on the establishment of an EC Commission Office in Hong Kong. He agrees with the recommendation. He did not realise that the Commission were empire-building in the East in this way, and certainly agrees that they should be content with the privileges being offered by the Hong Kong Government.
