BULGARIAN CONSULATE GENERAL IN HONG KONG

We have received a request from the Bulgarians for advice on setting up a Consulate-General in Hong Kong.

They propose to set up with two or three Bulgarian staff and a few Locally employed. The post's main function will be trade but it will naturally also handle consular matters. While the Bulgarians are in no great hurry, they hope to be well and truly established, with a good track record of solid business behind them by 1997.

Before replying to their enquiry we would be grateful to know whether you have any objection to their opening a Consulate-General.
