Foomotes:

(1) The dates shown for the year of start/completion refer to the main contracts. Only projects under construction during 1993-94 are

shown in the table. Projects which will reach practical completion before the start of 1993–94 or which are due to start after 1993–94 ere not shown, though there may be expenditure on these schemes in the form of fees, equipment costs, enabling works etc, (2) For works in progress the figures are based on the agreed contract price. For contracts to be let after 31 October 1992 the figures are

based on a budget estimate revalued to Estimates year prices. Both reflect changes in the rates of exchange to October 1992.

(3) All projected expenditure has been estimated in cash terms and brought to Estimates year prices using GDP deflaters. No allowance

has been made for local inflation or possible future exchange rate moveMENLS.

(4). The difference between the current and original estimate of expenditure and year of completion for Luanda is due to essential changes

in the project scope and specifications, delays in obtaining all necessary approvals.

(5) Cash Figures. Completed works at payment of retention and final account stages. Current contract on fixed price basis. Future works

will also be on fixed price basis. Revised date of completion reflects reassessment of programme due to minor delays or earlier sectors. (6) Figures revalued to Estimates year using GDP deflator. The difference between current and original estimate of expenditure due to

changes in operational requirements.

NB. Comparing the above overseas building projects with previous years' Estimates Tables, the trend is:

1990-91

1991-92

1992-93

1993-94

% Projects later completion date than original
