Your close examination of this case comes as no surprise to me our Home Secretary has over the same period been obliged to satisfy our courts of similar matters in relation to the parallel case of Osman of which you may be aware. In that case there have been repeated hearings to the highest level and I can tell you (a) that the defendant Osman had the fullest opportunity, as defendant Dr Saniman has with you, for his case to be meticulously examined; and (b) that the courts were after receipt of all the many submissions, entirely satisfied that extradition was appropriate in that case.
