once again sought to sell the idea to the Home Office; again I was not successful (my letter to Immigration and Nationality Department of 8 December and their reply of 20 January).

2. I think we have run this almost to death I hope you agree and see no point in pursuing it any further. The Home Office's suggestion in their last paragraph is perhaps well worth exploring.
